COUNSELLING & LEARNING SUPPORT (CLSD)

The department focuses on three basic domains:
Academic Development,
Personal/ Social Development and
Career Development.

Counselling helps students recognize and cope with social, behavioral and personal problems and helps them improve their personal and academic performance through a variety of highly effective techniques. Preventive counselling encourages students to deal with problems before they transpire.

As the spectrum of career choices available is vast, making the right choice is a tough decision. Counselling ensures that arriving at a career is a matter of choice, not of chance. Students are helped to identify their interests, aptitude, potential, and personality. The students are encouraged to spot their career goals based on their skills, interests, and career possibilities. The department guides the students to choose the right career path, provides them with details of courses, entrance examinations and other related matters.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Our Own English High School, Fujairah recognizes Students of Determination [SoD - those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)] and Gifted & Talented students (G & T) as fully participating members of a community of learners. All students should have equitable access to learning, opportunities for achievement, and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their educational programs. To provide a holistic and inclusive learning environment, the school has adapted an inclusive education set up where equal opportunities are given to learners in a least restrictive and non-segregatory environment.

The department consists of the Student Counsellor and Special Educator who function in collaboration and consultation with Teachers, Supervisors, School Doctor and Parents. Parents should get assessment done when requested by the
